An appropriate half-sole add-on is selected (available in three densities) based on the desired rigidity and control reguired for the patient. The application of the half-sole add-on to the molded orthotic allows the practitioner to determine the amount of resistive force or control that the finished orthotic will provide the patient. The half-sole add-on is then glued on to the bottom of the orthotic.
